Jim

Jim was just offered a most amazing job! He would still work mainly from home, but there would also be occasions when he would need to be in the office. The only issue that is making this a difficult decision is that we would have to move. It would be a really big move and I am not sure either one of us is ready for that… Jim is back so we are going outside with the kids; maybe the fresh air will clear my head.

Packing to Head Home

The weekend went by so very fast. It’s already time to go home. Fifi seems more than ready to go, but Samson definitely wants to stay, we had to put him on a leash to break down camp. I can’t wait to see my Yoyo and Princess!

The Really Great

thing about this camp ground is the people! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Last night when we arrived we took Samson and Fifi on a little walk to see the area. While we were putting up the tent Samson we on his own adventure, Fifi always stays close. Samson made a fast friend and went home with Rocky. Rocky’s dad brought Samson home about the time I started getting frantic. Roger and Jim made fast friends as well. Fifi does not seem to appreciate Rocky and has become very protective of Samson. This is going to be an interesting weekend.

Samson and Fifi

I took Princess and Yoyo to my friends’ house this morning and helped finish loading the car for our outing. Samson and Fifi are off the wall! It’s as though they know this weekend is all about them. Jim is just as excited and I think if he could right now, he would go run and jump with them. The tent is in the car; let’s see if Samson and Fifi will stop long enough to get the show on the road.

Weekend Getaway

Jim and I are taking Fifi and Samson camping this weekend. My friend is going to watch Princess and Yoyo because they do NOT enjoy camping at all. Princess will deal with it if she goes, but Yoyo gets rather “stressed” and I worry she will run off and not come back. The campground is very nice and has lovely places for Fifi and Samson to run and play and interact with others. Samson has been running around Jim’s feet all morning just waiting til we tell him it’s time to go. I am still packing Princess’ and Yoyo’s things for the weekend. I forgot how much stuff they have!

Have You Ever Noticed

that a dog can get themselves in some of the craziest messes? Last night we had gone out on the back deck to watch the sunset and I noticed Fifi was MIA. At first I didn’t worry too much, she sometimes likes solo time. After we went inside and were getting ready to hit the sack I still couldn’t find Fifi. I asked Jim if he had seen her and then we went looking. We went all around the yard, upstairs and down, the garage, the car, the boat and finally the woods. After about 20 minutes we heard her barking. We ran around in circles for another five minutes when we finally figured out she was in a tree! Jim went back to the house and got the ladder and rescued sweet Fifi. I spent half the night wondering how in the world she got up there. So, today I went back and surveyed the scene. It seems that a rather thick branch had fallen and created a “ramp” to the branch Fifi was on. Exactly why she walked the “plank” we may never know, but when she reached the top she must have knocked the dead branch off. What are the chances?

Mexican Cafe

I must say that it was worth the wait for this place! It’s called Mi Finca and it was fantastic! They had a special area for Princess and Yoyo to stay while we ate. It was a lovely glass enclosed area with a “tree” for my ladies to climb and lay in. Samson and Fifi were allowed at the table as long as they did not “beg.” The food was great and the atmosphere was so relaxing and still upbeat. I think that we will go for lunch tomorrow before we head back.

The Park

We found a great little park on the outskirts of town that seems to be the place for pets. Everyone was very friendly and I have been told about this little cafe in the next town where pets are welcome. Just guess where we are going this afternoon?

Wow!

We have been in Texas for a day now and it is beautiful! We are in this little town on the Gulf. There are few pet friendly establishments, but everyone has been so helpful. The manager at the motel has given us a second room for half price for the babies, even though technically “pets” are not allowed. (The website said yes, but someone recently purchased the property and changed all the rules.) I volunteered my help to update the web page and the manager volunteered the room. Not a bad deal. No one seems to know if “pets” are allowed on the beach or not, so I make sure I clean up any messes. Samson and Fifi are loving the water and the sand. Princess and Yoyo would rather stay in the grassy areas. I try my best to divide the time evenly. I do have to admit that I would rather be on the beach, but to see Princess giving me the “This is SO below me” look, breaks my heart. Later today I am going to explore the town a little more. LOL People are going to stare when they see me, two cats and two dogs all walking merrily along. :)

Busy Day

Today is going to be very busy! We need to give everyone a bath since there will be no time to go to the groomer before we leave. Plus I need to go purchase a harness for Yoyo, she has learned to get herself out of the collar when we have her on a leash. Plus I have to pack MY stuff. I sure hope I don’t forget anything.

Going to Texas

Jim has a client who he has just finished some important work for, and wants Jim to present it to the company President and CEO’s. We are headed to Texas! This will be different from most of our trips, it is the first where work is the main agenda. I will be solo with the babies in a new destination. (Not completely, but more than usual.)
I only have two days to plan before we hit the road. This is going to be a challenge.

Samson

Samson did the funniest thing this morning. I opened the back door to go out and I hear the fast click of nails on the floor. Before I can even open the screen door, Samson bounds right through it! He stops about 10 feet away and looks back as if to say did I just do that? I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe. I love my babies! Guess I am off to buy a new screen.

Winter??

After all the Spring cleaning, we are looking at snow! Sometimes it amazes me how fast the weather can change. Time to build a fire. I think it’s family snuggle time.

Spring Cleaning

Haven’t been on for a while. Spring is here and it sure is a busy time! Jim and I have been cleaning the house and windows and repairing anything that needs it. Fifi and Samson have been enjoying the trips to the hardware store, while Princess and Yoyo have been bashing in the sun. We are painting the house and shutters, and it’s a really big job! I love Spring and the flowers it brings! Off to paint!

Babies are Home

I missed my Fifi and Samson so much!! Jim too of course! While my girls and I had a wonderful time, there is nothing better than having my whole family around. Samson seems less than happy to be home, but Fifi dried her tongue out giving me kisses. After getting her fair share of love Yoyo has disappeared under a chair somewhere. What a lovely day!

Going Camping

Jim and Samson and Fifi have camping fever! Of course Princess and Yoyo are more than happy to be home, so for the first time in years, Jim and Samson and Fifi are going solo. Princess and Yoyo are going to stay here with me at home and Jim is taking the other babies with him on a camping trip. This should be a great story when he returns. His best friend John is going with him and is taking his German Sheppard Roy. I would love to be a fly on the wall for this trip. :)

All Work and No Play

Since we all got back from our small vacation, Jim and I have done nothing but work. I consider this a lesson learned; vacations are great, but no more complete weeks away from the computer. It’s just too much work to catch up on. I think Yoyo and Princess are rather upset with the lack of attention. Samson and Fifi have always been self entertaining and I would love for Yoyo to develop this ability. Princess has always been a princess and I do not think she will ever stoop to the level of self entertaining. LOL

Took a Real Vacation

Wow! Jim and I took the babies to our little house in the mountains, almost a whole week with no phones, computers or distractions. I feel revitalized and I think everyone else does as well. Jim hasn’t stopped grinning, Princess has groomed herself into perfection, Yoyo is acting like an actual member of the family, Samson has frolicked like a puppy and Fifi is completely relaxed for the first time in months. When the family is happy, I am happy.

My Problem Child

Yoyo is now officially my problem child. She threw a total fit on the vet yesterday. It was terrible, hissing, biting, claws flying. They had to give her a sedative just to give her her rabies shot. Thankfully she acted like a little angel for the groomer.

It’s V Day

V stands for vet and vaccinations. Everyone is loaded up and ready to go. I think a little stop by the groomers for some TLC will be wonderful for everyone after our visit. Yoyo seems a bit apprehensive, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn’t freak on the vet or his assistants.
